At Baltimore School of Dance the health, safety and happiness of our faculty, families and students are our biggest concerns. We are now in completely uncharted territory, but here is our plan at this time:
As COVID-19 continues to spread through out the U.S., we have been closely monitoring local conditions. After consulting with colleagues, health care providers, health department, local, state and federal agencies, we have determined that is it in the best interest of our faculty and families to close the studio Monday March 16 through Saturday March 28, 2020 to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
HOWEVER, as parents, we know how difficult it is going to be to occupy our children (and maintain the sanity of grown-ups) and we want to help. At BSD, our goal is to be innovative and solution oriented. So at no extra cost to you, we will be offering online classes that you can either attend live at your regularly scheduled time from the comfort of your own home or watch replays at your convenience. The benefit of the live classes will be that you will be able to get live feedback from the instructor. We also plan to offer additional FREE bonus materials to help pass the time we are cooped up at home. We only ask that you be patient as we navigate this new territory and remember that technology is not always perfect.
IMMEDIATE ACTION STEPS:
Download the Zoom app on your devices with a camera. It will work on mobile devices, tablets and laptops.
Monitor your email for invitations and links for the classes, updates and class info.
Per our published policies, our dance year is based on 34 weeks of guaranteed classes, and we have every intention of fulfilling that guarantee. And as always, our generous make-up policy applies. Hopefully classes will resume in 2 weeks.
In the meantime, recital dates remain unchanged. We will continue to monitor the situation, and should emergency directions be issued, we will update you accordingly. We will email their recital music so we encourage you to practice recital dances. We are working with staff to record all dances next week and hope to have them emailed to you by next weekend.
IMPORTANT CHANGES:
Studio will be CLOSED March 16-29 and re-open Monday March 30
There will be online classes during regularly scheduled times in addition to video replays and other bonus activities .
Recital Handbook will be emailed next week. This will take some time so we appreciate your patience.
